Planted in a 400mm pot appro 2.5m tall

An eye-catching, golden-foliaged Elm with a wide spreading habit. Ulmus glabra ‘Lutescens’ is a very impressive shade tree that can create foliage contrast in larger parks, gardens and properties where there is space for it to develop to its full potential.

Foliage: Bright greenish-gold, broadly obovate leaves up to 16 cm long, turning yellow in autumn. Rough to the touch on upper surface. In spring, the new growth is a pale lime-green.

    Flowers: Insignificant.

Fruit: Rounded samaras up to 2 cm long.

Culture: Adaptable to a wide range of site conditions, but best in moist, well-drained soils. Good tolerance to air pollution. May require occasional irrigation in hot, dry conditions, but avoid waterlogged sites. Will generally not produce suckers unless damaged.

Pest control: Prone to attack by Elm Leaf Beetle and use of an integrated pest control regime is advised in areas where it is known to be present.

    Size: 10 x 12 metres.
